Fraud

THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ON MAY 21, A VICTIM WAS APPROACHED BY A MAN AROUND 9 THAT MORNING AT A BUSINESS ON THE FOUR THOUSAND BLOCK OF ALBERT STREET. THE MAN SAID HE WAS FROM DUBAI AND HAD LOST HIS WALLET, AND PROCEEDED TO ASK FOR MONEY FOR GAS, FOOD, AND A PLACE TO STAY IN EXCHANGE FOR GOLD. THE VICTIM GAVE THE SUSPECT CASH AND RECEIVED SEVERAL PIECES OF GOLD JEWELRY, BUT THE VICTIM THEN REALIZED THE JEWELRY WAS FAKE GOLD.

 

THE MAN WAS DESCRIBED AS BEING IN HIS 40’S, WITH A SHORT, CHUBBIER BUILD AND BALDING WITH FAIR SKIN. HE SPOKE WITH AN ACCENT AND WAS WEARING A SUIT JACKET AND DRESS PANTS. THE MAN WAS SEEN DRIVING A BLACK CHEVROLET EQUINOX WITH ALBERTA PLATE K35 689. THERE WAS ALSO A FEMALE PASSENGER AND TWO CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT.
